Lawrence Ranch is a working ranch (and has been for more than 50 years), but we currently lease land for a number of activities, not just cattle.
Housing on the Pine Ridge Reservation is in short supply. We rent a number of home sites to community members.
We offer a number of camping spots for fully self-contained camping up by the main house. Good gravel road, no off roading required. If you’re interested in more rustic backpacking, the back fields are available, but contact us to plan your trip.
While we don’t personally own cattle anymore, the ranch is a working ranch, with cattle grazing here from spring through fall.
We have about 60 acres of good farm land up between the road and the big corral. For the last several years, this has been planted in alfalfa, but we’re investigating other options, including a walipini-style green house. The reservation is a food desert.
Hunting on the reservation requires separate permits (and sometimes a guide), but we have deer, turkey, and other animals here that can be hunted.
